December 11

Matthew 2:1-2 Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.”

We believe that the wise men probably came from around Babylon. It wasn’t convenient, and it wasn’t easy. They had to study what the star meant. They had to travel hundreds of miles over desert. They had to talk to dangerous kings like Herod. All to find Jesus.

I need to tell you, seeking Jesus is not always easy. It’s not always convenient. Sometimes it can be very difficult and challenging. But wise people still seek Him.

They study Him in His Word.

They meditate on His teaching.

They come to worship, though it is not always convenient.

If you were to look at your life right now, are you wise?  Are you seeking Him in His Word? Are you meditating on His teaching? Are you coming to worship, even if it’s not convenient? Very simply, you know if you are moving toward wisdom if those three things can be said of you.

Today, maybe you could change. Today, maybe you could gain wisdom by actually seeking Jesus. Don’t just say you believe in Him -  seek Him.

Challenge: go to worship this weekend, even if it is not convenient. Read His Word today, even if you don’t have tons of time. Pray to Him and meditate on His Word all throughout your day today.
