December 3

Isaiah 9:6 For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

I have several titles. Father. Husband. Pastor. Friend. Fisherman. Like me, Jesus has several titles. The prophet Isaiah wrote down four of them.

He called Him “Wonderful Counselor”.

This means when you are internally confused and struggling, you can go to Him with your questions. Like a good counselor, He will guide your steps and give you good wisdom.

He called Him “Mighty God”.

This means He is not just a good man, but He is a powerful God. He is strong enough to handle what you are going through. You can trust Him to help you and rescue you because He is mighty.

He called Him “Everlasting Father”.

This means Jesus has always existed. Before the world was created, He was there. He is here now with you, and He will be there after the world is gone. Trust that He knows the beginning of your story, the middle, and the end. He has it all worked out and is in total control.

He called Him “Prince of Peace”.

This means Jesus is the ruler (or owner) of peace. He alone can bring peace into your heart and life. Pray to Him and ask Him for His supernatural peace. He promises to provide it.

Now that you know His titles, which one means the most to you today? Write it down. Then write out a prayer asking Him for what you need based on that title.
