Luke 2:19-20 But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them. (NKJV)
Merry Christmas Eve! It is almost Christmas! The verse we just read says that after experiencing the birth of Christ, there are two good responses you can have.
Mary was thoughtful and pondered these things in her heart. The Shepherds were vocal, glorifying God and praising Him everywhere they went.
Both of these are good responses to have following an encounter with Christ.
We need moments where we are quiet and ponder all that God has done for us. Don’t forget the gospel message is first for you before you start shouting it to others.
Take a minute to be silent this Christmas Eve. Don’t just rush through the holiday and forget to pause and reflect on all that Jesus has personally done for you.
Take a few minutes and write down one real way you have experienced Christ this year. Ponder this moment and cherish it. It is a big deal that Jesus has been so good to you!
Secondly, we need to be vocal about how Jesus has changed us and glorify Him to others. Think of one person with whom you can share your story of how Christ has changed you this year. Go share your story with them right now - don’t wait. Vocally glorify God and His goodness to them. This might be the thing that nudges that person across the line of faith.
