December 16

Luke 1:30-33 “Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God! You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!”

Sometimes it feels like God’s Kingdom is ending instead of never-ending. It feels like evil is winning in the world, doesn’t it? When you hear about tragedy, terrorism, disease, or pain, it’s hard to feel like Jesus’ Kingdom will never end.

But here’s the truth: Satan lost when Jesus rose from the dead. The death and resurrection of Jesus was Satan’s loss, so evil cannot win. He has already been judged, and will eventually see that loss become his permanent reality.

Our job is to believe in spite of tragedy and terrorism and disease and pain. Believe that God is good and that He will win in the end. Don’t let the darkness of sadness, discouragement, despair, or hopelessness get in your mind or heart. Jesus wins! He beat sin and death. We have already read the end of the Bible, and we know He wins in the end.

There will come a day where we will kneel before the throne and shout, “King of Kings and Lord of Lords!” The Prince of Peace will rule, and there will be no more tragedy or terrorism or disease or pain.

His Kingdom can not and will not end.

Take a second and write down your biggest pain, hopelessness, or discouragement right now, and then write right over it in big letters JESUS WINS. Scribble JESUS WINS over the top of your struggle. Let this reminder empower you as you move forward today.
